Water Blue Tracks

Water Blue Tracks

We like a lot to navigate up and down along the 450 km of Tuscan Coast and also during the crowded summer it is always possible to find a small bay with a few people and reachable only by boat or by long and difficult paths in the Mediterranean bush. After many years of sea kayaking in the Tuscan isles (Elba, Capraia, Giglio), in Corsica and Sardinia we elaborated our personal way of exploring the coasts from the seaside point of view: a lot of baths, camping on solitary beaches and exploring the depths with mask and snorkel.  Also Freshwater Routes in Tuscany can give great surprises: the best way to know them is to discover them by kayak or canoe exploring the uncontaminated and wild places of exceptional beauty such as the hinterland of Maremma and Cinque Terre or the historical mills of Florence.

The Argentario Coast
The “silver”cost is the extraordinary corner in the south of Tuscany. Sand costs and reefs, ancient spanish fortresses, roman harbours, etruscan ruins… and fashion village as Capalbio or Porto Ercole. We purpose a 3 days trip to discover the Argentario with our sea kayaks SOT (Sit On Top) that allow to take a bath to refresh us or to explore the crystal blue waters every time and everywhere we like and re-entering it without complicated maneuvers like Eskimo rolls or assisted re-entering. The use of this crafts does reflect also on the safety because this kayaks can’t be flooded!

Aquatrekking

During the years, our love for the sea life and snorkeling brought us to develop a new way to explore the coasts: the AQUATREKKING. Aquatrekking means to “trek the water” by snorkeling and to “trek the footpaths” by hiking. With a backpack that has the shape of a small boat it is possible to carry with us all what we need, from dry clothes to food. When at water, with fins, mask, snorkel and a light wetsuit, the Armadillo in its “water” version is towed behind us, when on earth it becomes a normal backpack with shoulder straps and a hip belt.

Ilva cum ferri metallis – Elba: the isle of iron
With our Armdillos transformed into small boats (the Seadillo outfitting) we will explore the most beautiful coasts of the Isle of Elba with its ancient mines, its sealife and its incredible clear water.
