Sand Coast Explorer

Sand Coast Explorer

During the summer we prefer to enjoy the Tuscan coasts by kayak or aquatrekking but in autumn, winter and also spring the coasts reveal their secrets to the trekker or hiker who will go along its sandy beaches or rocky promontories. The summer crowding is disappeared as for a magic spell and the animals, once again, become into possession of the shores and the sand dunes. The WWF Oasis of Burano with its rich avifauna (birdlife), the Tombolo della Feniglia with its fallow deers are some of the most interesting places where the sandy coasts and the wetlands permeate each other forming unique environments.

Armadilling

From the “Last Beach” to Porto Ercole
With our fleet of Armadillos, a four wheeled sand pulka, it is possible to walk along the beaches bringing with us whatever we need without the worry of having a heavy backpack: from dry replacement clothes to a fine Chianti wine, from a complete photographic equipment to the tarp, one or more overnights will be possible without leaving the coast. The Tuscan coastline is incredibly rich in history so that it will possible to see and, in some cases, to visit the ancient sighting towers regularly situated along the coast like those of the natural reserve of Burano or the tower of Macchiatonda , the roman colony of Cosa (founded in 273 B.C.) with its megalithic walls, the Etruscan necropolis or the Tagliata (Roman channel, II century B.C.) in Ansedonia. Everywhere on the track it will possible to discover the traces of history and the rests of old civilizations. Very nice and comfortable farm holydays will be our final day destination for a pleasant evening.

Fat biking

Beaches and promontories
With the fat bikes it will be possible to discover the sand coasts in a new way, using these fantastic means (with 4.5 inch tyres) that were born especially for this type of environment. The natural continuation of the beaches are the promntories that will allow a different point of view: the panoramic streets of the Monte Argentario and the Piombino promontories with their secret bays, the ancient little churches, the ruins of old towers immersed in the typical Mediterranean bush and their glimpses on the crystal blue water will surprise you on each new curve of the dirt roads.
